I previously posted about the best albums of 1995 back here on 14/08/20. Probably should have held off until Richard Shaw’s #3albums Twitter poll got to 1995. It was interesting to see how my top 10 when I done it back in August changed six months later.

One of them which sneaked back into the top ten, the War Child compilation album, Help is excluded from the poll so that gave me 32 albums to work my way though the week. I had an idea that my top 3 wasn’t going to change but this was just a great excuse to play a years worth of great albums.

The only real change was that Infernal Love by Therapy? moved into my top 5. I guess it is really an underrated album and after reading Simon Young’s excellent biography on the band, So Much For The Thirty Year Plan, it made me appreciate the album a bit more. Not requite enough to get into the top 3 unfortunately but did enough to change the shape of overall top 10.

The results were announced on Twitter earlier and Richard’s top 100 showed that Radiohead were the clear winners. Poll positions are in italics.

My picks were Radiohead The Bends (1), Smashing Pumpkins Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (7) and Mad Season Above (47).

There were some great albums mentioned in the poll and quite a few I would definitely add to my collection. I would have come across another album to listen to but totally forgot all about this one which was Burned by Electrafixation. I clean forgot that I had the album so it got a rather belated inclusion which would make it into the now amended top 34 albums for that year.
